Winter
Winter landscape near Frymburk is an ideal place for winter sports. Directly in Frymburk is a small ski slope with a ski lift which is suitable for beginners.
There is a ski site called Lipno 15 minutes away by car which gives possibilities for skiers of all qualities. There are slopes for beginners or advanced skiers either. The area is artificial snow so it is availaible for the entire winter season with excellent snow conditions. From the ski area leads downhill cross-country ski ways, for classical and for skiskating, which go to the Frymburk town. Another cross-country ways leads to the "White trail Šumava" - the widest cross-country ways system in the South Bohemia.
In winter the entire surface of the reservoir freezes and becomes a huge skating rink. There is skating trail between Frymburk and Lipno cca 11 kilometres long.
Close to the borders in Austria there are two ski resorts Hochficht and Sternstein, which offer all ski possibilities. Advanced skiers can go to the Alps which are also not far.
